What is the deadline for application?

Applications close July 1st, 2024 Earlybird application date is May 1st. See the Applications page for full details .  

How much is the program fee?

The program fee is $475 which includes admission to the CelloDrama! faculty concert and dinner before the closing student concert. Earlybird applicants (by May 1st) qualify for reduced program fee of $450. The amount for the non-refundable deposit is $100. See the Applications page...

What age do you need to be to participate?

There is no specific age requirement. You need to have some comfort with reading music so we tend to start at age 7 but from there all ages are welcome.

Can adults participate?

Adults can definitely participate - and have often!

Is the schedule the same for everyone?

The schedule is largely the same for all participants but adults are offered more freedom with how they control their time. Youth students are closely scheduled all day but adults would have time to observe others' lessons, classes or coachings should they prefer. Partcipants in the...

Is lunch provided?

Students bring their own lunch (or funds to use the University cafeteria facilities). Snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.

What if I don't live in Regina?

The Prairie Cello Institute welcomes students from outside of Regina! We offer private, single room/shared bath, accommodation to our out-of-town participants at the Luther College Residence. This is a beautiful University residence building directly on campus and an easy walk...
