September Russell completed her MA in Music Theory at the University of Regina and her PhD in Music Theory at the University of Toronto. A music educator by training, she teaches Music Theory and Music History at the University of Regina and the Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts. Since 2011 she has had the privilege of working as a teaching musician for the National Arts Centre’s Arts Alive program which brings music-making workshops to communities across Canada. Through this program, September has partnered with and learned from inspiring Saskatchewan Indigenous artists including Jacob Pratt and Zoey Roy, and has worked with communities across Southern Saskatchewan and Alberta.
