Katie Gannon M.Mus. is a violinist based in Regina, Saskatchewan. She has been a member of the Regina Symphony Orchestra since 2011 and has been teaching since 2001. Before joining the RSO, Katie played with the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra, as a member of the Zarzuela Festival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, the Newfoundland Sinfonia, and was concertmaster of the Memorial Chamber Orchestra. Winner of the Penderecki String Quartet Chamber Music Prize, she received her Masters in Music Performance from Memorial University while studying under Nancy Dahn of Duo Concertante. She received her undergraduate degree from Wilfrid Laurier University under the tutelage of Jerzy Kaplanek (founding member of the Penderecki String Quartet). Katie continues to be an integral part of the music community in Regina as a board member and faculty of the Prairie Cello Institute. She has also played with the Globe Theatre and numerous community events with the Living Sky String Quartet.
